API Battleground: Hackathon

Overview:


API Battleground is an exhilarating 5-hour hackathon where participants will craft applications using an API revealed on the day of the event. Teams will be challenged to leverage this API to build dynamic and creative solutions, emphasising seamless integration and innovative use of its features. This event provides a platform for showcasing your coding skills and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Rules:


  1. API Usage: Build an application using the API provided on the spot. Integration of all available endpoints is encouraged.


  1. Code Originality: All code must be written during the event. The use of pre-existing code from sources such as GitHub, GitLab, or any other repositories will lead to immediate disqualification.


  1. Frameworks and Tools: Participants can use any framework or development tools of their choice to build the application.


  1. Technical Setup: Participants must bring their own laptops and chargers. Ensure that your device is fully charged and prepared for the day’s activities.


  1. User Interface and Experience: Design a user-friendly and intuitive interface.


  1. Deployment: Applications must be deployed on suitable platforms—web apps on Vercel or Netlify, and mobile apps on Google Drive.




Judgment Criteria:


  1. Use of API Endpoints (10 points): Effective integration and use of API features.

  2. UI/UX (5 points): Quality of design and user experience.

  3. Code Quality (5 points): Organization, clarity, and quality of the code.

  4. Demo (5 points): Participants must submit a video recording demonstrating their application, showcasing its features and functionality.

  5. Deployment (5 points): Successful deployment and stable performance.
